Statements Of Faith

  • The Sovereignty Of The Triune Godhead (1 John 5:7)

We believe that God exists and that He is one God, existing in Three Persons. That is the sovereignty of the Triune Godhead in the Persons of God the Father, God the Son – Jesus Christ the Word, and God the Holy Ghost. The Three co-exist together in divine beauty and perfection, eternally.

  • The Bible As God’s Word (1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1)

We believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word given to us by divine inspiration. The Bible is the revelation of God’s Word (King James Version being the authorised version), which consists of the Old and New Testaments alone. Every word was inspired by God through chosen and faithful men, so that the Bible as originally given is in its entirety the Word of God, without error and fully reliable in fact and doctrine. The Bible alone speaks with final authority and is always sufficient for all matters of belief and practice. We uphold the Holy Bible as true, consistent through the ages, unchanging and unchangeable, and above all, divine and divinely inspired.

  • God’s Creation (Genesis 1)

We believe that God created the world and all that is in it, including Man. Man was not an evolution from the generation of apes but God’s own creation. Man was created in God’s own image and put in charge of all that God created with the charge to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it. Man is created to love, worship and serve God.

  • Marriage Between Man And Woman (Genesis 2:18, 20-25; Mark 10:6-9)

God created Man as male and female and brought together for the purpose of companionship, procreation and service. Marriage is therefore honourable, with the man and woman joined together in holy wedlock, God been the visible Witness that sustains and keeps the family together according to His divine will. Children are raised in such godly environment to love and honour God, demonstrate love and care to others and be relevant to society.

  • The Fall of Man (Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23)

We believe that man, through voluntary disobedience and subsequent fall of Adam and Eve, our first parents, fell and became subject to the dominion of sin and death. Man lost the meaning and purpose of life, and by his sinful nature becomes an enemy of God and a victim of the devil, to whom he now yields. Every person is therefore under the just condemnation of God for sin and unrighteousness.

  • Redemption Through Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Romans 5:6-9)

We believe that God’s love for man endures, not wishing for him to perish, effectively putting in place a redemption plan that was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. On the cross He died in the place of sinners, bearing God’s punishment for their sin, redeeming them by His blood. He rose from the dead and in His resurrection body ascended into heaven where He is exalted as Lord of all. He intercedes for His people in the presence of God, the Father.

  • Salvation Through Grace (Ephesians 2:8; John 1:12-13; Romans 10:8-10; 1 John 4:15)

We believe that man, being a sinner cannot redeem himself by good works or act of righteousness. Salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and cannot be earned or deserved by works. It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the gospel. Salvation is then personal and dependent on the individual’s acknowledgement of sin; repenting and believing in the saving grace that is in the Lord Jesus. All who believe in Christ and come to Him are justified by faith alone, adopted into the family of God and receive eternal life.

  • New Life (2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 3:1-3)

We believe that any one that has been born again is born into a new life that is in Christ Jesus. Change takes place from the moment of decision and the experience is real and personal. Hope is restored, life is meaningful and sin no longer has control over the individual. The seal of the Holy Ghost makes the individual stand out as the redeemed of the LORD whom the enemy, the devil no longer controls. With salvation comes new desires, new friendship and genuine interest in the things that please God.

  • The Christian Race (Philippians 2:12; 2 Corinthians 7:1)

We believe that having been saved from sin, the life of the Christian must be exemplary in word and in deed. The believer must need to grow in grace, living a life of holiness, faith, prayer, service and love. The Christian is to go on to perfection, rich in the Word of God and fervent in the spirit.

  • The Church (Acts 2:46-47)

We believe that the universal Church is the body of which Christ is the Head and to which all who are saved belong. It is made visible in local churches, which are congregations of believers who are committed to each other for the worship of God, the preaching of the Word, the administering of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; for pastoral care and discipline, and for evangelism. Every believer is obliged to identify with a congregation of believers of which Christ-In-You Glory Church is one. Together we can worship God, exhort and encourage one another towards Christian growth and perfection, serve the LORD together as stewards that must labour to fulfil our Christian mandate.

  • Holy Ghost Baptism (Acts 1:8; John 14:26; Acts 2:1-4)

We believe the Holy Ghost works to convict the world of sin and unrighteousness, reveal Jesus Christ and to lead the sinner to salvation. He convicts sinners, imparts spiritual life and gives a true understanding of the Scriptures. Believers are baptised in the Holy Ghost with the outward evidence of speaking in tongues: He indwells all believers, brings assurance of salvation and produces increasing likeness to Christ. He builds up the Church and empowers its members for worship, service and mission.

  • The Gifts And Fruits Of The Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Galatians 5:22-25)

We believe that the Holy Ghost endues believers with ministry gifts for the purpose of building up one another as a body of Christ, that we may all attain perfection in Christ. Equally, the Holy Ghost works in the every believer towards achieving a spirit-filled life as evidenced in the nine fruits of the Spirit. The balance of both the gifts and fruits of the Spirit in the life of the believer is a condition for spiritual maturity and completeness.

  • Healing, Signs And Wonders (Mark 16:17-18; Acts 5:12; 1 Corinthians 12:7-10; James 5:14-16)

We believe that God still heals and performs miracles, signs and wonders as of old. He has remained ever faithful to His promise and does not and will not change. He has bestowed on believers gifts of the Spirit and charged us to use these gifts in faith and in the name of Jesus Christ, for the profit of all.

  • Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; Matthew 3:13-17, Colossians 2:12-13)

We believe that baptism by immersion is a significant part of believers’ Christian experience. Through baptism by immersion, those who have been brought consciously to repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ; an experience that translates into the believers’ death to the old sinful nature, burial and resurrection to new life in Christ. Baptism is the physical evidence of a spiritual experience in Christ, and one that constantly reminds believers of their new life.

  • The LORD’s Supper (Luke 22:15-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-26)

We believe that the LORD’s supper is a command from Jesus Christ that we uphold as a Church, signifying the body of Jesus that was broken and His blood that was shed on the cross for the remission of sin. It is a commemoration of Christ’s sacrifice offered once for all and involves no change in the bread and wine. All attending blessings are received by faith.

  • Tithing And Offerings (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2)

We believe that tithing is a command from God as well as offerings. God requires every believer to bring tithes – the ten percent of income unto Him for the purpose of ministry and Church sustenance and for this obedience, a promise of abundant personal blessings. He also requires free will offerings to be brought to Him without grudge.

  • Civil Government (Romans 13:1-7, Acts 4:18-20, I Timothy 2:2; Titus 3:1)

We believe that God appoints government authorities and that civil laws are put in place to achieve civil society and order. God requires every man to uphold civil laws at all times, except where they contravene or oppose the will and commands of God. We are also to pray for all men and those in authority, for peace and godliness and reverence to God.

  • Evangelism (Mark 16:15-18; Matthew 28:18-20)

We believe that the work of soul winning is the obligation of every believer as it is obedience to the command of Jesus Christ for every believer to preach the gospel, and make disciples of all nations. The work of soul winning is also the believers’ show of love and care for a lost and perishing world of people that Jesus Christ love and died for.

  • The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Acts 1:11)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory; the dead in Christ shall rise up first and believers alive will be taken up in rapture to meet the LORD. Believers are to keep themselves pure and ready, watching and waiting for the day of the LORD, for though no one knows the time when He will come but the day is imminent.

  • The Future – Reality of Heaven and Hell (Revelation 20:11-12; Matthew 13-41-43; John 14:2)

We believe that we will all stand before the LORD in judgement and books shall be opened and a book – the Book of Life. Anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life stands condemned of sin, wickedness and unrighteousness. The wicked will be sent to eternal punishment in hell and the righteous will be welcomed into a life of eternal joy in fellowship with God in heaven. God will make all things new and will be glorified forever.
